Tap Happy Lesson Plan - Level 1, Month 2
This is MONTH 2 in the Level One Tap Happy Lesson Plan system.
Teaching tap dance should feel as joyful as dancing it. The Tap Happy Lesson Plan system gives you a clear, confident roadmap for every class — so you can spend less time planning and more time inspiring.
Designed as a supplement for tap teachers of school-age dancers, Tap Happy Level One presents tap skills and technique through the lens of rhythm, joy, creativity, and connection. Each lesson builds on the last through a thoughtfully sequenced system of exercises, giving your students a strong technical foundation while keeping the energy alive and the fun front and center.
What to expect:
Each Tap Happy lesson plan is designed to be used for 3–4 consecutive weeks within a 30–45 minute class, giving students the time and repetition they need internalize each skill before moving on, creating real progress you and your students can feel.
Every lesson comes with built-in options to dial the challenge up or down, so you can meet your students exactly where they are. Within the structure, there's plenty of breathing room for your own teaching style, personality, and instincts to shine through.
The Tap Happy Lesson Plan system was created to work with you, not instead of you.

Students ages 7 and up with prior preschool or K–1st grade tap experience
