This tap lesson plan is created to be a supplement for tap teachers of school-age dancers. The goal of the Tap Happy lesson plans is to help present tap skills through the lens of rhythm, joy, creativity, and connection, using a system of exercises that build on one another.
The Tap Happy Level One lessons are meant to be used for 3-4 weeks in a row during a 30-45 minute class. The students should be at least 7 years or older and have prior preschool or K-1st grade tap dance experience. If your students are brand new to tap or are between the ages 3-5 or 5-7, begin with the A Little Bit Of Tap Dance Magic series instead.
